* SUMMARY After the Safari 3.1.1 update, my Default RSS reader preference was lost. My preference was set to Vienna 2.2.2 before the Safari 3.1.1 update, and after the update my preference was reset to Safari 3.1.1. * STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install Safari 3.1. 2. Download Vienna 2.2.2 from http://vienna-rss.sourceforge.net/vienna2.php 3. In Preferences, RSS, set Default RSS reader to Vienna. 4. Update to Safari 3.1.1. * RESULTS My Default RSS reader preference was set to Safari 3.1.1. It should have remained as Vienna. * REGRESSION This problem occurred at least once before. I don't remember exactly, but it may have been right after the Safari 3.1 update, so it appears that the update process is breaking the preference. * NOTES I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.11 Build 8S2167. The version of Vienna has remained the same; it has not changed recently. 11-Jun-2008 Jeff Johnson: I've also occasionally seen Safari 3.1.1 reset my default RSS reader preference at other times too -- when I click an RSS link in Safari. The preference should never be changed automatically. The only time it should change is when I make a new selection in the preference popup. 10-Apr-2010 Jeff Johnson: This issue has been verified as resolved and can be closed. I haven't seen this bug in a long time, so it seems to be fixed.
